统计行政执法是统计行政机关为了执行统计法法律、法规、规章和其他具有普遍约束力的规范性文件，依法对某一具体事件或个人采取处理措施的活动。经过多年的执法实践，我国统计行政执法在取得一定成绩的基础上，也发现了当前存在的一些问题。为解决我国统计行政执法存在的问题，保证统计行政执法在维护统计工作正常秩序方面的重要作用，本文对当前我国统计行政执法存在的统计立法不够完善、统计执法力量与统计执法任务不相适应、统计管理体制制约统计执法等问题进行了探讨，并在此基础上从历史、制度、社会、经济等几个方面分析了上述问题存在的主要原因，进而从立法、执法、制度三个方面对我国统计行政执法存在的缺陷提出了治理建议。文章指出，只有不断完善统计法律制度才能使统计行政执法真正有法可依；只有不断加强对统计执法人员的培训，增强统计法律意识，才能从源头上遏制统计行政执法存在的问题；只有不断改革统计管理体制，才能从根本上杜绝统计行政执法的缺陷。
