For the purpose of deepening the understanding of socialism to fit the need of socialism construction, this paper shallowly compares Sun Yat-Sen's socialism thought with Marx's scientific socialism based on prior research. Sun Yat-Sen's socialism and Marx's socialism are quite similar or have links in terms of motivation, system of ownership of means of production, and the means of distributing goods. However, their philosophy foundations and implementation plans are totally different. Though not scientific socialism, Sun Yat-Sen's socialism embodies many reasonable essences which provide Chinese socialism practice with profound historical inspirations.
