2006年12月11日，是中国金融史上的关键时刻，从这一天起，中国银行业将向外资全面开放，我国将取消外资银行在中国经营人民币业务的地域限制和客户限制。这是近大半个世纪之后，中国金融行业再次向外资敞开大门。人们希望此举能够涤清中国金融业混浊的生态环境，摆脱国有银行以往财政金融的暖昧身份和受制于体制的国有银行之间的伪竞争局面，改变大经济小金融的格局，达致双赢。

金融业开放之后最好的结局就是借助上市与外资金融机构的全面进入培育出互相促进的市场生态。对于金融业开放之后的前景，一些国有银行显得极为自信。确实，按照条例和细则规定，只有外商独资银行、中外合资银行才能全面经营人民币业务，外资银行分行要注册为法人机构需要经过严格繁琐的审批手续，即便注册成功，也面临着网点、ATM机等硬件设施不足，而成为法人机构后给大客户的贷款不得超过法人注册资本的10%，在利润丰厚的零售业务上暂时还无法与国内金融机构抗衡。

如果自信仅建立于此，那与建立在冰山上没什么两样。外资行的进入会让我们再次见证，在市场上挤开一条门缝就意味着打开一道门。
