5.2.5 Data Collection and Transmission
Plant data shall be collected, time-tagged, stored, formatted, and serially transmitted from DPU's in appropriate packets to the control room over the redundant data highways. The method of communication on the highways shall be such that overloading of the data highways shall not result during vital failure or upset. Time-tagging and clock-setting shall assure plant time coherence of data gathered by the DCS. Time-resolution shall be 200 milliseconds for discrete information and 500 milliseconds for analog data. Time-resolution of one millisecond shall be available for SOE recording operation of generator breakers and protective relays and other important parameters in the plant. Provision shall be made for 150 SOE points.
