生态环境与经济的协调发展是可持续发展的核心。在生态经济系统中，生态系统是经济系统的载体，能为经济发展提供各种自然资源和环境保障，而良好的经济系统又使得生态环境得到有效保护，从而实现生态系统和经济系统的动态平衡。
三江源地区地处青藏高原腹地的青海省西南部，是我国主要的水源地之一，也是我国生态环境保护和重建的重点地区之一。这一地区生态系统极其脆弱，然而，由于自然因素和长期以来不合理的产业结构，使该地区生态环境遭到破坏，严重地影响了这一地区经济发展乃至下游地区的经济社会的可持续发展。为此，本文运用统计分析的方法，通过全面、系统地分析三江源地区产业结构的现状进而阐明生态环境保护与产业结构调整之间的辩证关系；遵循生态经济理论和产业结构调整理论的基本思想，运用规范分析、实证分析的方法，研究分析在这一地区生态经济系统协调发展前提下的产业结构调整的必要性、可行性及制约因素，最后提出符合本地区生态经济系统协调发展要求的产业结构调整和优化的思路。
本文研究的主要结论：
1、通过对生态经济理论及产业结构调整理论的分析，为三江源地区生态环境保护前提下的产业结构调整提供理论依据。
2、系统分析三江源地区的产业结构现状，为这一地区生态系统与经济系统的协调发展提供现实依据。
3、三江源地区生态系统的平衡依赖于对原有产业结构进行调整优化，必须发展与该地区生态系统资源相匹配的产业。
