现在分词与过去分词作定语的分别

在语态上不同：现在分词表示主动的意思，而过去分词多表示被动的意思。请比较：
1、surprising news 使人吃惊的消息
surprised listeners 吃惊的听众
2、an exciting movie 令人激动的电影
excited children 激动的孩子
3、The teacher told his students a lot of interesting stories. 老师给学生讲了许多有趣的故事。
She is interested in Chinese. 她对汉语感兴趣

-ing形容词一般意思为使人产生某种情绪，一般形容物
如： surprising news着重于说这个消息使人产生吃惊的情绪

-ed形容词一般用be+adj.+in\at...的短语，如果做定语一般形容人
如：I am surprised at the news （我对这则消息很吃惊）着重于I（主语）所表现的情感

interest的意思是“使……感兴趣”，这样就好理解了，故事是使人感兴趣的，是主动的，而she是被吸引了兴趣，所以是被动
其实，当修饰人的时候，大多是用interesting的，对于事物是interested
