Two students are sitting on opposite sides of the same desk. there is nothing betwween then but the desk. why can'tyhey see each other?

他们是面对面坐的。on opposite sides of the same desk是指同一桌子的两侧，没说是背靠背。

1. opposite是指面对面的意思，是不是桌子太高了或者在盲童学校里所以看不到
