Expansion joints will be installed in a steel duct system. This duct system is utilised to convey turbine exhaust steam to the air cooled heat exchangers. The main part of the duct system will be installed outdoors in a corrosive, maybe humidified air environment. Only a small part of the exhaust steam duct will be erected inside the turbine house. The whole duct system and the expansion bellows are loaded with internal and external forces/moments (temperature, pressure, wind, snow, insulation load and dead load as well as vibrations and seismic loads and forces and moments from connected pipe-work. The expansion bellows will be welded either from the duct supplier into prefabricated duct sections in his shop or will be installed separately from the erection company at site.
