中国自1978年12月制定改革开放政策后，经济一直保持着高速增长，综合国力也有了显著提高。直到2001年11月加入WTO后，中国在世界上的地位也开始日益上升，对于中国来说，现在才是关键，因为机遇与挑战是并存的。中国走了出去，就要全面的认识世界，而世界也应该重新了解中国。
作为工作在中国教育一线的年轻人，我们身上更是肩负着这种重任。首先，走了出去，就该可以代表中国，更该将中国的文化传播出去，让更多的人了解如今的中国到底是怎样的？其次，走了出去，就该学习，该把自己的所见所闻认真总结，更该把自己所了解到先进的教育经验与技术带回国内，从而发展本国的教育。
我自己深知“机会是给有准备的人所准备的”，知识是无边的，就该抓住每个机会去学习知识来充实自己。“没有付出就没有回报”，所以，我想抓住这次机遇，更愿意面对这次挑战。这就是我为什么要申请成为赴美的汉语教师志愿者。
