随着教育科技的飞速发展，人类越来越认识到智商(IQ)并不是决定成功的唯一要素。科学证明，情商(EQ)对于一个人的成功具有重要作用。
长期以来，我国应试教育的模式下存在着“重智商轻情商”的片面的教育观念，由此引发了学生的许多问题。越来越多的学生表现出脆弱、自私、冷漠、不自信，甚至有少数学生出现了自杀、犯罪等极端行为，我国学生的情商现状堪忧。
21世纪我国教育的主要任务是提高和促进人们素质的全面发展，素质教育的一项重要内容就是发展学生美好、积极的情感和塑造学生完美的人格。联合国教科文组织提出未来人才的三个标准即“学会学习”、“学会生存”、“学会合作”，其中“学会生存”、“学会合作”都包含着情商教育的内容。因此结合我国学生的情商现状及新世纪对人才的要求，情商教育已势在必行。
本论文建立在前人研究的基础之上，通过对情商及情商教育的相关文献和书籍进行整理、分析和反思，论述了情商的价值及情商教育的意义、重要性等方面的内容，并针对我国情商教育的现状，提出了改善方法和解决途径。
