Why does my computer super-slow download speeds ?

I use the 2 MB broadband telecommunications. The average download speed of only 122 KB / S. Although I am using a local area network, LAN, but no one used to download tools.
My computer configuration:
Hard disk:100gb
Memory:1GB
Hard disk space:44gb

The download speed is not only depend on the broadband telecommunications.It was depend on the netline qualities.
But the 2 MB broadband telecommunications should have a highest speed was 256K/s.So you should try some P2P download,if the speed was near 200K/s ,the speed of your net line is Ok.but if it is very little you should call the company who give you the netline.
