我们要理智地对待情感。玛丽安代表情感，他一心想找一个“人品出众，风度迷人”的如意郎君，爱上了花花公子威洛比，而对布兰登上校不屑一顾，当她被威洛比抛弃后，又自暴自弃，整日以泪洗面，差点因此而丧命。而对于埃丽诺，虽然后来听说她深受的爱德华已经订婚，但仍对他一往情深，最终她和爱德华有情人终成眷属。玛丽安最后也听从了姐姐的劝导，理智克制情感，嫁给了布兰登上校。
冷静地寻求问题的解决方案即使这样不会使事情变的很好，最起码不会使事情变得更糟。在对待友情，宿舍关系、伙伴等种种关系时，我们可以多想想怎样理智地处理这些，才能有利于问题的解决。
We have to face our emotions rationally. Marianne represents emotions, she wants to find someone who is standing out of the crowd, and charming to be her husband, and she fell in love with the playboy Willoughby, and paid no attention to Sargeant Brandon whatsoever. After she got dumped by Willoughby, she ended up in depression, washing her face with tears everyday, and nearly died. To Elinor, even though she heard that the man she loves, Edward, was already engaged, she was still passionate , at the end, Edward and her had a happy ending. Marianne took her sister's advise, controlled her emotions with rational thoughts and married Sargeant Brandon
Calmly seeking the solution for the problem may not make things better, but at least it wont make it work. To many relationships, we can always think about how to face it rationally, that's how to solve the problems.
