Christmas day was eventful and a real family occasion. Mike and I
roused at
our leisure at about 8am to find that Father Christmas had already been

left us many gifts . We had breakfast, left the gifts unopened and went
to
the next village where my mother lives. She was in the middle of
opening her
presents so we shared her joy at her variety of presents. She had many
consumables--food , chocolates, bath toileteries, notepaper etc.
Watching
her meticulous care at opening the wrapping paper, cast me back to
childhood
memories when I also learned to remove the wrapping paper carefully so
that
it could be recycled for the following year!. Upon marriage to Mike I
learned different habits.--- tearing the paper off and discarding it
was the
norm--as is the case with most people today. however our society is
now
being encouraged to "go green' and pay attention
