声波测井最早始于20世纪50年代,经过半个世纪的发展,已从最原始的单发单收和单发双收声速、声幅测井发展到较为先进的偶极、多极声波测井和声波成像测井等测井方法。声波速度测井历史虽老,但因其具有成本低、实用性高和技术成熟等优点,至今仍被广泛采用。
声波速度测井主要用来计算地层孔隙度和估算地层压力。从井眼中测得的测井数据一般不能直接用来测井解释,需要对有误差的数据进行修正处理,以保证得到正确的测井解释结果。现在国内外都不断地在研究开发测井资料预处理软件,测井资料的预处理对作出正确的测井解释结果具有十分重要的意义。
