Abstract: Sargassum (Sargassum pallidum) is a Division Phaeophyta Sargassum plants abound in China's Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea coastal parts of Guangdong, is also very rich in resources, in coastal areas. However, Sargassum can not be directly consumed, resulting in the processing and utilization of the current Sargassum relatively narrow scope, only a small part is used as feed, algal plastic and pharmaceutical industries, raw materials, most of the yet to be fully exploited. At home and abroad to the Sargassum species diversity and their development in the use of few studies, and not go far enough. In view of this, this Sargasso coastal areas of Guangdong conducted a preliminary inquiry. This paper has three parts, of the Guangdong coast Sargassum species diversity assessment, Guangdong Sargassum resource utilization status and future resource protection and development of countermeasures were studied.
